This is the eponymous Costco Bin prepared (cardboard layers, shredded paper, sufficient moisture) and populated with our Red Wigglers (Eisenia foetida), including a bundle of organic kitchen scraps packaged in a paper burrito. Just take it home, place in your garage, or any other shaded room temperature location. If you don't feed it any more, you'll have worm castings in three months. If you feed the worms, more castings will follow.
Ready-to-Go Red Wigglers
Favorites: melon, cooked rice/other grains/beans, apple, spaghetti (they'll try to mate first, then eat), bread, moldy bread, tortilla (single, and separated if multiple), cake, oatmeal, any veggies (ideally julienned, even if crookedly so).
In small quantities (scraps): meat, dairy, spices, eggshells, honey
Longer digestion times: uncooked grains/beans (you'd have the same problems too!)
Verboten: citrus, onion, garlic, avocado shells and pit, stone fruit seeds, plastic, oils and fats (you'd be cursing me when you're trying to scrape these off the bin - so don't do it!)
